The classic leather belt typically has a standard width of between 3.5 and 4 centimeters, allowing it to be easily threaded through the belt loops of a wide variety of pants, and features a classic buckle, the color of which varies depending on the model. It pairs perfectly with everything and looks just as stylish with slim-fit suits as it does with jeans and color-coordinated Chelsea boots.

Narrow belts are usually no wider than 2 to 2.5 centimeters and feature a correspondingly smaller buckle. Unlike their classic counterparts, narrow belt styles primarily serve as accessories and, thanks to their accent-enhancing nature, add a subtle touch of flair to any outfit.

Have you set your sights on a Gusti Leather belt but aren’t quite sure which length to choose? No problem! Here we’ll tell you what to look for when buying a belt so you never buy one that’s too long or too short again. After all, how a belt fits ultimately determines how it looks on you.

• Pay attention to the listed lengths.
  In our online shop, for example, you can usually use a drop-down menu to choose from various belt lengths in increments of Choose 5 cm – unless a particular size is currently out of stock. These measurements in centimeters do not refer to the total length of the belt, but to the distance between the belt buckle and the third belt loop.
• Know your waist measurement.
  To determine your hip or waist circumference—depending on where you want to wear your belt—measure it using a measuring tape. The length measured this way corresponds to the optimal belt length for you. For example, if your hip circumference is 93 cm, we recommend choosing a belt with a length of 95 cm, and so on. (If you want to measure particularly accurately, thread the measuring tape through the belt loops of the pants you plan to wear with the belt, just as you would with a belt.)
• Dealing with belts that are too long.
  If a belt has become too big, you don’t have to throw it away; you can usually add extra holes using a hole punch. In addition, most of our belts have a small screw on the buckle . If you loosen this, you can discreetly shorten your belt by a few centimeters at this point—and continue wearing it for even longer.

This line exclusively includes Gusti Leather products that are traditionally handcrafted in small family-run workshops in India from vegetable-tanned Goat leather. Gusti Leather works exclusively with facilities in India and Italy that operate in accordance with international labor and human rights standards. To ensure the consistently high quality of our leather products, we commission regular random testing at independent laboratories and conduct unannounced visits to the workplaces to verify compliance with the contractually defined production and labor standards.
